Pablo Escobar’s Brother Hoping for a Sneak Peek into Netflix’s Season Two of ‘Narcos’
A name you probably aren’t as familiar with, Roberto Escobar, is asking for a screener copy of Netflix original ‘Narcos’ according to Business Insider.
For those less familiar, ‘Narcos’ follows the rise and fall of Colombian drug king pen Pablo Escobar, and the first season had a suspenseful ending, right as Escobar was taking off into the Jungle. While of course the series is somewhat fictional in its dramatic retelling, for the most part, the series follows the historical timeline of Escobar’s life. With this in mind, of course it seems fair that Netflix might take Roberto Escobar up on his offer, as it couldn’t hurt to have the guy fact check a few things, right?
No word from Netflix yet as to whether or not they plan on responding to Escobar’s request, but with the PR opportunity, it seems like Netflix should play along. In a statement, Roberto Escobar argued that nobody else is able to fact check with the same level of accuracy.
“I am submitting a formal, friendly request to review this material solely on an informational basis. It is depicting me, my life, my family, and my brother. I think nobody else in the world is alive to determine the validity of the materials, but me” he said.
Fair enough.
As Business Insider points out, however, Mr. Escobar has also claimed to find a cure for AIDS.
Interesting.
Regardless, for those also hoping to get their hands on season two of ‘Narcos’ you’ll have to wait a bit longer. Season two of Narcos premieres September 2nd, 2016. You can also watch a brief teaser trailer below, but don’t worry, there aren’t any spoilers.
Netflix, in its own cheeky humor, also reminded people that are hoping to avoid any spoilers for the second season premiere, it might be wise to simply avoid Wikipedia. Thanks, Netflix, always looking out for your customers.
